Strategic Sector Study and Subproject Pipeline Development for Improving Energy Efficiency with Integrated Ozone and Climate Benefits - VEEIE - Food Processing Industry
Through an international competitive bidding process, The World Bank has selected RCEE-NIRAS for awarding a contract “Strategic Sector Study and Subproject Pipeline Development for Improving Energy Efficiency with Integrated Ozone and Climate Benefits - VEEIE - Food Processing Industry”.
The objective of this consultancy assignment is to assist in evaluating the Energy Efficiency potential and establishment of Energy Efficiency benchmarking for the food processing industry in Vietnam. This assessment would, in turn, be used to build the pipeline of food processing industry subprojects for downstream financing through lending by the Participating Financial Institutions (PFIs) as part of The Vietnam Energy Efficiency Financing for Industrial Enterprises project (VEEIE).
The contract will be implemented during period 2015-2016 with several capacities building and awareness raising workshops for stakeholders. RCEE-NIRAS has unique approach to energy benchmarking. We include international expertise with local context to measure the gaps and potential for implementing energy efficiency for the sector. The lessons learnt by this approach help General Department Energy (GDE) to practically regulate and plan the energy efficiency policies in industrial sectors. RCEE-NIRAS has been involved in energy benchmarking some key industrial sectors in Vietnam recently: iron & steel, cement, pulp & paper.
