Research Center for Energy and Environment (RCEE) has organized a meeting to report the results of the assignment: “Promoting energy efficiency and conservation among industry and building sectors” on 24 October, 2012 at Ministry of Industry and Trade. The assignment was part of the National Program on Energy Efficiency and Conservation. RCEE has conducted detailed energy audits at 14 facilities in different sectors: steel (03 facilities), textile (02 facilities), pulp and paper (04 facilities), plastic (01 facility), ceramics (02 facility), buildings and hotels (03 buildings). 80 energy efficiency solutions have been identified through the audits, including management improvement, awareness raising for working staffs, technical solutions and application of new technology. The total estimated investment cost of 12 billion VND. The total estimated energy saving is 13 billion VND and the annual emission reduction of 4, 524.29 ton of equivalent CO2 is expected.
