Based on the result of the survey on energy consumption in steel industry Vietnam collected from 42 steel plants, the Consultants team has selected 10 steel plants for walk-through energy audits. The selection criteria include: (i) technology representative, (ii) high energy consumption, (iii) high potentials for energy efficiency. The selected steel plants are located in some key industrial zones throughout the country such as Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel zone, Quan Toan Industrial zone (Hai Phong), Phu My Industrial zone (Ba Ria- Vung Tau). The results of these walk-through audits are expected to provide in more details on the current situation of energy consumption as well as the opportunities for energy efficiency and conservation in Vietnam Steel Industry.
