NIRAS Vietnam provided expertise for the project "Conversation of direct drying tunnel to environmental protection Indirect drying tunnel" at Tan Tien Co. Ltd (Tantien)
Continuing the Green Investment Financing (GIF) program which is under the framework of the project “Low Carbon transition in Energy Efficiency (LCEE)” sponsored by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), NIRAS Vietnam provided expertise for the project "Conversation of direct drying tunnel to environmental protection Indirect drying tunnel" at Tan Tien Co. Ltd (Tantien).
Tantien was established in 2000. Its scope of work ranges from timber processing to manufacturing wood products. At the time of the survey, the company had already removed the old furnace to prepare the ground for a steam drying system. The new boiler is expected to save nearly 42% of the annual energy consumption and reduce Green House Gases (GHG) emissions.
Through surveying programs and data verification, NIRAS Vietnam experts confirmed Tantien initial investment decision. The solution of converting the direct drying tunnel to indirect drying tunnel is expected to meet the minimum technology criteria of the project. Tunnel specifications are adapted to Vietnam standards which include: water treatment systems, condensate recovery systems, temperature of distribution on the pipes surface. Beside, the new system also has other economic and environmental benefits.
