The consortium led by Copper Alliance was awarded €1.75 million for a 48-month project for the promotion and deployment of energy efficient air conditioners in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). ECI is the legal signatory with the European Commission under the call for proposals related to Europe Aid-SWITCH-Asia promoting sustainable consumption and production.

RCEE is local implementation partner for Vietnam and will, in collaboration with CA, carry out work to seek to increase the market share of higher efficiency air conditioners in ASEAN. Planned items include the harmonisation of test methods, energy efficiency standards and adoption of common Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS).
