Local support for improving integration of renewable energy resources into the electricity system

The Danish Energy Partnership Programme (DEPP) is part of the Danish commitment to fulfil the Paris Agreement by assisting a number of emerging economies in their low- carbon transition. The cooperation is aiming to promote the use and awareness of the Danish energy experiences as an inspiration for green transition through a unique approach in a government-to-government cooperation. The scope of the project is a 3 year program, where the Vietnamese and the Danish partners cooperate in the form of workshops, training sessions, internships and twinning arrangements.


In the framework of DEPP’s activities in 2020, RCEE – NIRAS has been selected to provide local supports and worked with the international consultants to enhance the capabilities of ERAV and NLDC on forecasting of VRE generation as well as on quantifying the need for and securing the availability of ancillary services to ensure the stability of the power system. The local team has involved to (1) support NLDC in data collection and validation; (2) work with international team to support with Improved capability for quantifying need for and secure availability of ancillary services; (3) facilitate the organization of expert-expert technical discussions and other project logistics
