RCEE – NIRAS has been selected as local consultant to work with international consultants to implement a technical assistance on Energy Efficiency Incentive Scheme for energy intensive industries under Energy Partnership Programme between Viet Nam and Denmark.

In 2021 the work program will focus on obtaining insights from the target group for the EE and ES regulation in Viet Nam and here through essential feedback from the envisioned target group for the incentive scheme to be designed and tested.  A close cooperation with EESD/ MOIT and the DOITs in relevant partner provinces is seen as an essential part of the Work Programme and the development and testing of the incentive scheme.

The objective of the consultancy assignment is to provide analysis on the current regulatory framework as well as potential funding sources for introducing an economic incentive scheme(s) targeted energy efficiency in energy intensive industries. As an example it is the aim to take inspiration from the Voluntary Agreement Scheme implemented by the Danish government, which as shown successful results for reducing energy consumption and emissions from industry while improving business performance.
